Product and Regulatory Legal Director

Dave is looking for an experienced product and regulatory attorney to help shape the next generation of financial products for our members. You'll bring deep expertise in consumer financial services, banking, and payments to help Dave innovate responsibly while navigating an evolving regulatory landscape.

As Director, Product & Regulatory Legal, you'll be a trusted legal advisor to teams across Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Operations. You'll help shape product strategy, guide complex regulatory decisions, and build practical legal frameworks that support innovation and responsible growth.

This is a senior individual contributor role with meaningful autonomy and visibility. You'll influence decisions across Dave's banking, lending, payments, and subscription products while balancing legal risk, business objectives, and member experience.

• Experience advising a neobank, banking-as-a-service platform, or consumer-facing fintech.

• Familiarity with digital assets, emerging payment technologies, or financial services regulatory advocacy.

• Experience improving legal workflows through automation or AI.
  

You bring sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a practical approach to solving complex problems. You connect legal considerations to product strategy, operational realities, and member impact, helping teams make thoughtful decisions even when the path isn't fully defined.

You're a collaborative partner who builds trust across functions, communicates complex issues clearly, and welcomes different perspectives. You take ownership of outcomes while recognizing that the strongest solutions come from shared expertise.

You'll operate with significant independence and work closely with leaders across Dave. Priorities will evolve as products, regulations, and business needs change. You'll have the opportunity to influence direction early, build durable solutions, and help teams navigate ambiguity with confidence.
