Our client, a world leader in life sciences and biotechnology, is looking for a “Senior Systems Support Engineer" based in Pleasanton, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension) Pay Rate : $79/hr on W2 Company Benefits: Medical, Paid Sick leave, 401K Travel: Local travel to Santa Clara, CA as needed Job Overview Seeking a Senior Systems Support Engineer to support laboratory instruments, software, and networked systems used across R&D and Clinical Operations. This role has a strong focus on networking and connectivity, along with hands-on instrument installation, qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Install, relocate, deinstall, qualify, and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on laboratory instruments and systems. Troubleshoot instrument hardware, software, and network connectivity issues and perform root-cause analysis. Manage IP addressing and connectivity for networked laboratory instruments. Configure and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls, VLANs, switches, routing, DNS/DHCP, and related network infrastructure. Provide onsite and remote IT/networking support for R&D and laboratory environments. Manage service requests and coordinate/triage issues through ServiceNow. Document service, maintenance, and qualification activities accurately in equipment management systems. Execute and support IQ/OQ qualification activities and work within applicable FDA/ISO requirements. Provide technical guidance and training to team members as expertise develops. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT/Networking, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience supporting medical/laboratory equipment and/or networked systems in R&D, hospital, or clinical laboratory environments. Hands-on experience with IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls. Direct experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortigate or similar firewall/network security appliances. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall rules.
