As a C/S Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in advancing community oral health by delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic care in both clinical and community-based environments. Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Provides clinical oral hygiene services including but not limited to dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, fluoride application, x-rays, and dental impressions.\r\n \r\n \r\n Conducts initial mouth screening, checks oral health history and conducts oral cancer screenings.\r\n \r\n \r\n Maintains patient documentation, paper charts and electronic dental records. Records patient-hygienist transactions so that the dental record accurately reflects the nature of the contact and the care or treatment provided.\r\n \r\n \r\n Provides preventative oral health education to patients either in person or virtually.\r\n \r\n \r\n Assists the Dentist with appropriate treatments and performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law.\r\n \r\n \r\n Sterilizes dental equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.\r\n �\r\n \r\n Maintains the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Log. \r\n\r\n
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Dental�Hygienist \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating\r\ncompetence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Dental Hygienist License or eligibility for a Delaware license.�\r\n Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
