Summary Statement

This class is responsible for the statewide inspections of licensees/registrants and other sites to ensure adherence to State and Federal Pharmacy drug laws and regulations.\r\n

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.\r\n\r\n\r\n One year of experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or Managed Care.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.�\r\n\r\n Conducts statewide inspections at health care facilities pharmacies, practitioner offices, correctional institutions, distributors and manufacturers. \r\n Reviews work of research pharmacy consultants in statewide public and private health care facilities.\r\n Reviews work of researchers and pharmacy consultants.\r\n Conducts follow-up inspections to ensure that corrective measures are taken.\r\n Prepares a variety of related reports and recommendations for list of controlled substances and regulatory changes.\r\n Provides interpretation and education information relative to State and Federal laws governing pharmacy services.\r\n Provides pharmacist coverage in State pharmacies in cases of emergencies and/or staff shortages as required. \r\n\r\n

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Pharmacist Compliance Officer \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: \r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Pharmacist license or eligibility for a Delaware license. \r\n Six months experience�in practicing as a pharmacist. \r\n Six months experience in interpreting state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. \r\n Knowledge of dispensing procedures, drug distribution systems and contract requirements pertaining to pharmaceutical services. \r\n Knowledge of Pharmacy dispensing computer systems. \r\n Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).�\r\n\r\n

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.\r\n
