As a PIM and/or DAM Configurator, you are hands-on in Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms. You translate well-defined business needs into clean, consistent, and maintainable configurations—ensuring product content and digital assets are structured, usable, and ready for multi-channel delivery. You thrive on execution: building in the tools, maintaining quality, and supporting clients and teams through implementation and ongoing improvements.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Translate business goals and requirements into clear, maintainable configurations in PIM and DAM platforms (data models, attributes, families, categories, metadata, workflows, permissions, validations, and rules).
- →Convert stakeholder input into practical configurations: ask sharp clarification questions, validate assumptions, and implement the right setup in the systems.
- →Support both the start of implementations (setup, configuration, migration readiness, UAT support, go-live preparation) and long-term platform evolution (continuous improvement, maintenance, and adoption).
- →Configure and optimize product and asset governance: completeness, quality controls, taxonomy structure, naming conventions, roles & permissions, and workflow steps.
- →Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, engineers, and client teams to align configuration choices with integrations, channel needs, and delivery plans.
- →Ensure configuration decisions are scalable and future-proof by documenting key choices, conventions, and configuration logic in a structured and actionable way.
- →Drive consistency across PIM and DAM: align metadata, taxonomy and usage patterns so product information and assets work together across e-commerce, marketplaces, DXP/CMS, and marketing tooling.
- →Support operational stability: troubleshoot configuration issues, resolve data quality bottlenecks, and help teams work more efficiently in the tools.
- →Contribute to commercial activities where relevant (e.g., supporting scoping with practical configuration input, effort estimates, and feasibility checks).
- Proven experience in a hands-on configuration role within PIM and/or DAM environments (implementation partner, consultancy, agency, or in-house teams).
- Comfortable spending most of your time in the tools: configuring data models, attributes, families, categories, metadata schemas, workflows, permissions, validations, and business rules.
- Hands-on experience with multiple PIM and/or DAM systems (e.g., Akeneo, inRiver, Bluestone, Salsify, Pimcore, Stibo STEP; Bynder, Cloudinary, Frontify, Adobe AEM Assets, etc.).
- Strong ability to translate business wishes and requirements into accurate configurations, with a clear focus on delivery and execution.
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven: you spot inconsistencies, prevent configuration drift, and keep the setup clean, consistent, and maintainable.
- Solid understanding of product data modelling concepts (attributes, variants, families, taxonomies, reference data, localization, channel-specific enrichment, completeness/quality controls).
- Understanding of DAM fundamentals (metadata schemas, renditions/transformations, rights management, usage governance, approvals/workflows).
- Comfortable in client-facing settings: you can align efficiently with stakeholders and delivery teams, communicate clearly, and keep focus on implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset: you can diagnose configuration issues, support UAT fixes, and resolve data quality bottlenecks efficiently.
- Structured and quality-driven in documentation: you can capture decisions, conventions, and configurations in a way that others can actually use.
- Nice to have: basic understanding of integrations and surrounding ecosystems (ERP, e-commerce CMS/DXP, search, feeds, middleware/API patterns), mainly to configure with dependencies in mind.
- Curiosity and appetite for using AI responsibly to speed up repetitive configuration work, analysis, mapping, and documentation.
- Working proficiency in English
- Working proficiency in Dutch is a plus
