Senior Advisor, Responsible Investment

Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM) is looking for a Senior Advisor, Responsible Investment (RI) to join the Responsible Investment Department. The team specializes in incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into the investment process from a perspective of sound risk management and value creation. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Analyze the ESG practices of companies within the investment universe and in the sectors under your responsibility, including dialogue and proxy voting, in line with DGAM’s approach and policies
• Track key RI trends related to the sectors under your responsibility and link them to DGAM’s portfolio management activities
• Actively participate in the reporting process for internal and external clients
• Write and present various analysis reports on ESG issues
• Help continually improve the processes, tools and data used by the team
• Support the team with various responsible investment projects at DGAM and across Desjardins
• Analyze, conduct research and manage data
• Demonstrate a passion for responsible investing and portfolio management, and an understanding of the key issues involved.

What you bring to the table  

• Bachelor of business administration, finance, economics, engineering or an investment-related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience, ideally in investment research/analysis

• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered  
• Academic specialization in finance or an appropriate field related to sustainability
• Experience in analysis and investments to establish links between companies’ financial and ESG performance
• Experience writing and presenting
• Possess or be in the process of earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation
• Knowledge of French is required
• Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients 
• Knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft office, Power BI and SQL
