Summer 2027 Manufacturing Intern

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

• Learn DFA Portales plant processes and procedures, from milk intake to final product.

• Participate as a member of a team or lead an individual project to improve on a KPI or deliverable for the plant

• Work cross-functionally between the production, quality, engineering, and warehouse teams to understand losses in those areas and work on corrective actions or initiatives to address these losses

• Learn more about DFA by visiting an area dairy
• Utilize lean six-sigma tools and Microsoft Office to collect and analyze data, identify causes of loss, and implement countermeasures
• The qualified candidate will be a junior or senior in the fall of 2027 with a degree focus in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agriculture, Business, Food Science, Biology, or Chemistry
