Engages cross-functionally with other technical / engineering teams to define product quality requirements (quality figures, CTQ, acceptance criteria), determine hardware design direction, develop concepts, drive production processes and test prototypes. Plans, conduct and documents thorough design quality tests to ensure that hardware operates properly, is defect-free, robust, and meets specified standards and end-user requirements. Utilizes a structured root cause analysis method to analyze and perform tests to reproduce and resolve problems. Reports progress on QA project status and problem resolution to leadership. Develop test methods and tools to automate and harmonize test procedures as needed. Drives continual process improvements in the evolution of testing procedures and test coverage for future replication.

Location: Onsite, North Canton, Ohio

  • Provides Hardware Quality Engineering support for a defined product or process area.
  • Engages and communicates with assigned stakeholders to understand projects and expectations from a quality perspective.
  • With limited guidance performs Quality Engineering duties, including: o Collecting and analyzing product requirements and other relevant data for planning tests, o Performing test development and setup, o Executing design quality tests, o Developing analysis reports, o Working with Quality Engineering team members and product / technical stakeholders to identify, analyze and develop resolution strategies for typical technical problems.
  • Assists with test automation associated with product development, integration, performance and benchmarking.
  • Participate in design reviews to improve the product design from a quality, reliability, robustness and regulatory perspective.
  • Monitors production / maintenance processes to identify issues, perform failure analysis and contribute to corrective action decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred) or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Experience using Jira for test case management.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Experience communicating with assigned stakeholders to understand projects and expectations from a quality perspective.
  • Ability to assist with test automation associated with product development, integration, performance and benchmarking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a drive toward ownership of the solution.
