Description
As a key member of Digitain's R&D unit, the Market Intelligence Expert serves as the company's eyes and ears across the global iGaming landscape. This role is responsible for tracking industry movements, competitive dynamics, regulatory shifts, and market-level signals that inform Digitain's strategic direction across Sales and Product functions.
The Market Intelligence Expert occupies a critical position at the intersection of research and strategy. You will be responsible for monitoring and synthesizing information across competitors, emerging markets, regulatory bodies, and industry events — transforming raw intelligence into actionable insights that power Digitain's commercial and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze emerging trends in the iGaming industry — including regulatory changes, technological advancements, market shifts, and upcoming innovations
- Track major players in the iGaming ecosystem by reviewing quarterly and annual reports, financial performance, revenue growth, and strategic announcements
- Evaluate sales and market growth by region, assessing key growth indicators, player acquisition trends, and penetration in both regulated and emerging markets
- Research product development activities among key competitors, including new tools, features, integrations (e.g., sportsbook, casino games, payment solutions), and their potential market impact
- Assess operational network expansion — tracking growth in B2C operator networks and B2B partnerships, including platform adoption rates
- Monitor competitor activity across websites, industry conferences, press releases, job postings, and social media; set up alerts for new market entries, pricing changes, or key client acquisitions
- Analyze geographic focus of competitor job postings to gain early insight into their expansion strategies
- Conduct competitive analyses of key iGaming players, including performance benchmarking and threat/opportunity identification
- Prepare and deliver high-quality research outputs: detailed reports, trend summaries, competitive landscapes, and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Source and validate data from industry reports, financial filings, news platforms, conferences, and proprietary tools
- Collaborate with team members to translate research findings into strategic recommendations and contribute to BRD/PRD preparation
- Proactively anticipate industry shifts (e.g., new regulations in Latin America, Asia, Africa) and alert relevant teams to emerging risks or opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, business analysis, or strategic research, with a strong preference for candidates from iGaming, fintech and e-commerce
- Proven track record of owning market intelligence or competitive analysis functions and reporting insights as market conditions change
- Deep, demonstrable knowledge of the global iGaming ecosystem: sportsbook and casino platforms, B2B/B2C business models, payment solutions, and regulatory frameworks across key regions is preferable
- Experience analyzing financial/annual reports, investor disclosures, industry publications and market data to assess and validate competitor performance and strategic direction. Strong strategic and critical thinking skills — able to identify and connect non obvious signals (regulatory shifts, hiring trends, product launches, social/media activity) into them into early-warning insights
- Ability to turn complex research into clear, decision-ready reports and presentations for stakeholders and leadership
- Experience with competitive intelligence platforms (e.g., Similarweb, H2gc, LinkedIn Talent Insights) is a strong plus
- Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of the market intelligence function, setting priorities with minimal oversight
- Experience mentoring junior analysts or researchers, or willingness/ability to build out a team as the function scales
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to balance competing requests from Sales and Product teams and prioritize based on strategic impact
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent research streams under tight timelines in a fast-moving, competitive industry
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages (Russian, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus
