Position Title: Assistant Director of Security

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

• →Assists in directing and supervising security unit in accordance with standing orders.
• →In the absence of the Director, supervises, works with, approves weekly timesheets, and evaluates the performance of Security staff.
• →Escorts Assistant District Attorneys and witnesses to and from court.
• →Coordinates with Human Resources to post job openings and conducts interviews of applicants for security roles. 
• →Assists in preparing the unit's daily work schedule. 
• →Coordinates operations with the police department and other law enforcement agencies as required.
• →Working on special projects and tasks as assigned.
• →Must be willing to work flexible hours.

• Seven (7) or more years of security experience with at least three (3) in a supervisory position. 
• Possess a valid certificate of completion from New York State Basic Course for Police officer’s academy.
• Firearms qualification required.

• Demonstrated familiarity working alongside contracted security officers.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
• Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
• Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies.

• Monday – Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with flexibility to work additional hours, weekends and overtime as needed. 

• Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

1. Graduation from high school or its equivalent and four years of full-time, paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work, two years of which must have been in rackets or police investigative work.
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1”. However, all candidates are required to have two years of full-time, paid experience in rackets or police investigative work.
