Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own and drive functional safety lifecycle for chassis systems from concept through production and operation
- →Develop and Lead Item Definition, HARA, Safety Goals, and ASIL classification
- →Develop and review Functional and Technical Safety Concepts (FSC/TSC)
- →Define, allocate, and manage FSRs, TSRs, HW and SW safety requirements
- →Lead and review safety analyses: System FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and interface-related risks
- →Define safe states, fault reactions, and degradation strategies for chassis and ADAS handover scenarios
- →Apply SOTIF (ISO 21448) to address unknown or insufficiently understood risks and performance limitations
- →Support safety verification and validation (MIL/SIL/HIL, fault injection)
- →Own and contribute to Safety Case and SOTIF Case development
- →Perform safety impact analysis for design changes, calibration updates, and field issues
- Preparation and documentation for third-party functional safety assessments and homologation processes
- Coordinate with assessment bodies for ISO 26262 safety case reviews and formal approvals
- Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific safety requirements
- Act as the primary safety interface for system, hardware, software, ADAS, validation, and vehicle integration teams
- Coordinate chassis and ADAS safety activities with global teams across regions
- Ensure end-to-end traceability of safety and SOTIF work products using ALM tools (Polarion, DOORS, Codebeamer)
- Integrate functional safety and SOTIF processes within the PLM environment for full lifecycle management
- Track, escalate, and resolve safety and SOTIF-related risks
Tools & Standards:
- ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ASPICE
- Medini Analyze or equivalent safety analysis tools
- IBM DOORS / Polarion / Codebeamer
- MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE, CANoe
Required Profile:
- Engineering degree with strong automotive systems background
- 8+ years' experience in functional safety and chassis systems
- Experience with ADAS–chassis integration and safety interfaces
- Experience working with OEMs, suppliers, and assessment bodies
