At TelCom Construction, under the direction of a foreman, this position is responsible for accurately locating utilities and safely performing any and all labor activities at a job site. In contrast to the Laborer position, the Locator’s primary responsibility is to be knowledgeable in operating the locating equipment and accurately locate utilities.

Responsibilities

→Possesses thorough knowledge of maintenance and operation of locator equipment
→Accurately locates and spots all existing utilities & obstructions in work area
→Maintains tools and equipment
→Hand digs holes and trenches
→Loads and unloads supplies
→Pot holes utilities
→Feeds cable in chute during plow procedure
→Sets utility pedestals and hand holes
→Shoots the pneumatic gopher
→Assists operator digging around utilities
→Assists in maintaining onsite equipment
→Performs ground restoration
→Performs general clean up
→Maintains accurate timecard
→Participates in weekly “Tool Box” meetings
→All other duties as assigned.

IND1

To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

Routinely: work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
Occasionally: use portable ladder, work in confined spaces and climb stairs
