Education Intern

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Science and Environmental Education Intern will support the Center for Science & Environmental Education in developing and delivering engaging STEM and environmental education programs for K–12 students, families, and community audiences. Interns will assist with educational outreach events, hands-on activities, program preparation, and other Center initiatives while gaining professional experience in science communication, environmental education, teamwork, and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Must be enrolled at EKU

Experience: Applicants should have an interest in science, environmental education, STEM outreach, or working with children and community audiences. Previous formal work experience is not required, but applicants should demonstrate reliability, good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in education, science or environmental outreach, working with children or youth, public engagement, or related volunteer or employment activities. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, creativity, enthusiasm for science and the environment, and an interest in developing professional skills in informal education and outreach are highly desirable.
