Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Eastern Kentucky University Department of Government is accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions/online course facilitator in Paralegal Science. Successful candidates will teach/facilitate courses in Legal Research & Writing and Litigation Skills.  Candidates should describe legal expertise in these areas and experience working with paralegals in their cover letter and/or CV. These courses will be taught online using the Canvas learning management system and synchronous Zoom every-other Thursday evening, 5-10pm (Eastern Time Zone). A juris doctorate (JD) is required for this position. Previous undergraduate teaching experience, especially in online learning settings, is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Candidates must hold a J.D. degree, be licensed to practice law, be eligible for admission to the Kentucky Bar Association, have previous experience supervising paralegals, and able to teach law specific to Kentucky. The candidate's undergraduate degree must be from a regionally accredited institution and the J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Experience: Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred. Candidates must hold a J.D. degree, be licensed to practice law, be eligible for admission to the Kentucky Bar Association, have previous experience supervising paralegals, and able to teach law specific to Kentucky.
