We are seeking an experienced and compassionate REACH Program Director to lead, develop, and inspire our crisis services team supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis in the Staunton, VA area.

As the REACH Program Director, you will be a driving force behind the success of the program, providing strategic leadership while ensuring your team has the direction, resources, and support needed to deliver exceptional, person-centered crisis services.

You will oversee the administration and operations of the REACH program while providing direct leadership and guidance to the Hospital Liaison, Office Manager, and Residential Program Supervisor.

In this highly impactful leadership role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop your team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Ensure individuals receive compassionate, person-centered services grounded in clinical excellence and best practices.
  • Drive achievement of program goals, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee program operations and ensure services remain responsive to the needs of the individuals, families, and communities we serve.
  • Develop and oversee budgetary parameters while ensuring responsible and effective use of program resources.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and agency standards.
  • Collaborate across clinical, operational, and community teams to strengthen service coordination and continuity of care.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help move the program forward through thoughtful, solutions-focused leadership.
  • Participate in the supervisor on-call rotation, providing leadership support when needed.

We are looking for a confident, compassionate, and collaborative leader who brings together clinical knowledge, operational excellence, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to developing people.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can see the big picture while staying connected to the individuals, teams, and day-to-day operations that make the program successful.

  • Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in health, psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of experience working with developmental disabilities and/or mental health populations
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, build accountability, navigate complex situations, and foster collaboration
  • Clinical & Operational Skills: Strong clinical expertise, organization, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound decision-making
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional Certification: Minimum QMHP credential required
  • Licensed or license-eligible as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Virginia MH/DD/SA system
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and confidence navigating technology in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Dependability, flexibility, and a strong commitment to the individuals and teams we serve are essential
