Echo Neurotechnologies is developing novel Brain Computer Interface (BCI) products for people living with disabilities to restore autonomy and improve quality of life. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anatomic Pathology Technician who will perform the essential tasks related to the macroscopic and microscopic preparation and examination of tissue samples. The Anatomic Pathology Technician will ensure tissue samples are compliantly and adequately prepared for examination and analysis by the Pathologist. The person in this role will have a keen eye for attention to detail, an understanding of and proficiency in anatomic pathology and histological techniques, and a commitment to maintaining Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards for safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Anatomic Pathology Technician for a variety of biocompatibility, safety, and efficacy studies for medical devices and associated products in accordance with GLP for Nonclinical Laboratory Studies (Title 21, Part 58).

  • Perform necropsies, conduct gross examinations, and document descriptions of tissue specimens. Prepare and dissect tissue samples for Pathologist microscopic examinations.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, staining stations, and cold storage.

  • Strictly adhere to laboratory protocols and safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure the accuracy of test results.

  • Work proactively with the Senior Histopathology Technician to ensure that any protocol changes related to the processing of tissues are approved and documented in accordance with GLP practices.

  • Work collaboratively with department management and Quality Assurance (QA) to exceed Sponsor expectations in the conduct of studies.

  • Ensure that unanticipated responses of study data are corrected, accurately recorded, and verified by working directly with the Study Director to maintain documentation of corrective actions in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Contribute to GLP study reporting for submission to relevant regulatory agencies to support the company’s applications for clinical use.

  • Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest techniques and advancements in histopathology.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A./A.S.), Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.), or equivalent in laboratory science, biology, neuroscience or a scientifically related discipline.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related GLP or clinical laboratory settings. Applicants with neuro-modulatory and BCI experience are highly desired.

  • General understanding of GLP policies and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory animal science, toxicology, and histopathology.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects of varying complexity and duration, prioritize work according to company timelines, and drive innovation.

  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.

  • Excellent written, reporting, and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work with persons of diverse backgrounds.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools and applications.

  • Must be highly motivated to deliver results under tight deadlines.

  • Able to lift 10-25 pounds.
