The Assistant Program Director (APD), reporting to the Program Director, oversees the curriculum, ensuring program competencies are met and course learning outcomes and instructional objectives are achievable, well-written, clear in course content, and assessed. The APD has a presence in the classroom, ensuring student engagement and faculty feedback and mentoring in course content. The APD assists the PD with program assessment and continuous quality improvement.

The role supports continuity of operations by serving as a liaison among faculty, staff, students, and external partners and is prepared to assume interim leadership during the Program Director’s absence.

The APD will contribute to curriculum development and delivery across the didactic and/or clinical phases, apply effective instructional strategies, and support course design, evaluation, and assessment activities. Responsibilities also include mentoring and supervision of student scholarly or research projects and service to the department, university, and appropriate professional and community organizations. The successful candidate will support overall administration of the PA program, which may include contributing to the preparation of accreditation documents (e.g., self-study reports, annual updates) and assisting with logistics and documentation in support of ARC-PA site visits and interim reviews.
