Head of Department – Language Acquisition (HOD-LA) Location: Sarjapur, Bangalore Curriculum: IBDP & Cambridge IGCSE Salary Budget: ₹1,00,000 – ₹1,30,000 / month (Gross) Kindly note that for the HOD – Language Acquisition (HOD-LA) position, we are specifically looking for candidates with Foreign Language expertise, such as Spanish, German, French, etc. 1. Role Overview Provide academic and administrative leadership to the Language Acquisition department across IBDP and IGCSE. Responsible for curriculum design, teacher mentoring, and driving high standards in language learning and international-mindedness. 2. Key Responsibilities Departmental Leadership: Manage language faculty, lead curriculum planning, conduct lesson observations, and oversee departmental operations. Academic Delivery: Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of IBDP (Language B / ab initio) and IGCSE language courses. Assessments: Oversee internal assessments, oral examinations (IOs), coursework moderation, and external exam preparation. Faculty Development: Mentor teachers, identify training needs, and facilitate IB/Cambridge professional development. 3. Key Requirements Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Languages/Linguistics + B.Ed / M.Ed or teaching certification. Experience: 5–8+ years of teaching experience with proven leadership in IBDP and IGCSE Language Acquisition. Skills: Expert knowledge of IB/IGCSE assessment criteria, fluency in English + target language, and strong team leadership skills. 4.
