What We Offer

~2 min read

At the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), we support independent voices working for democratic change — from investigative journalists to civic movements and human rights defenders. Behind every grant we make is a process of precision, care and accountability. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an Internal Accountant to join our Brussels-based team to cover maternity leave. It is for eight months with extension possible. This opportunity offers a broad exposure through undertaking a wide range of accounting, financial, operational, compliance and audits.

Here at EED, we are also in an exciting period as we are in the early stages of developing and preparing for the transition to a new accounting software. The position holder will be an important member of the project team.

If you thrive on detail, enjoy making systems work better, and want your skills to support meaningful work in some of the world’s most complex environments, we’d love to hear from you.

• Purposeful work: Put your financial expertise to work supporting democratic actors across the globe.

• People-first culture: At EED, we recognise that our most important asset is our people. We value the diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds our team brings.

• Supportive workplace: We work to create a positive, flexible and respectful working environment.

• Benefits that matter: Our package includes complementary health insurance (CIGNA), meal vouchers, public transport or bike allowance, 13th salary, holiday pay, paid leave, parental leave options, training opportunities, and weekly teleworking.
