As a Summer 2027 US Farm Animal Beef Veterinarian Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will join the Beef Unit, working alongside experienced professionals to provide technical expertise and support to our customers while delivering on a significant summer animal health project. Through hands-on experience and expert mentorship, you will advance your clinical skills, strengthen your communication and interpersonal skills, gain exposure to business analytics and market research, explore research opportunities within the beef sector, and receive career development guidance within the animal health industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Provide technical support and guidance to customers on Elanco's packaged goods portfolio, including anti-infectives, vaccines, and parasiticides, covering product information, usage recommendations, and best practices.
  • →Define, execute, and deliver on an owned project centered on a specific area of the product portfolio and its use. Projects may include parasite management and product use strategies for beef operations, disease monitoring programs that use population sampling to track prevalence and occurrence, priority account targeting to identify underserved accounts, internal tools such as necropsy guides and training aids, or health and performance outcome reports using Benchmark data systems.
  • →Identify and evaluate account growth opportunities within the beef sector, conducting market research and analysis to find potential new clients and expand existing relationships.
  • →Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinary clinics, acting as a liaison between Elanco and the veterinary community to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • →Partner with Territory/District Managers, Key Account Managers, Veterinarian Technical Consultants, and Nutritionist Technical Consultants to gain insight into account management, technical advising, and industry best practices.
  • →Present your project findings, recommendations, and potential business impact to relevant US Farm Animal leadership.

 

  • Travel: Regular travel required in conducting customer visits via car
  • Location: Field-Based – Various locations throughout the United States

  • Competitive Salary: $20-$40/hour (dependent upon major and year in school)
