Primary School Art Teacher

We are looking for an Art Teacher for a bilingual international school in Shanghai, teaching primarily at the primary school level. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in August 2027.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach art primarily to primary school students through engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Introduce a range of artistic techniques and materials to develop students’ creativity and visual expression
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and assessments that support different learning needs
• Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop the curriculum and support interdisciplinary projects
• Organize displays of student artwork to celebrate learning and achievement
• Maintain a safe, supportive art classroom and guide students in the responsible use of materials and equipment

• Bachelor’s degree in art or a related field
• Relevant experience teaching art to primary school students is essential
• Ability to plan creative, age-appropriate lessons and support students with different learning needs
• Strong communication, collaboration and classroom management skills
• Commitment to student development and education
