Job Summary:
This position is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to crisis services and behavioral processes support program operations and learn from experienced crisis staff while developing foundational skills in the behavioral health field.
Essential Functions:
This position does not provide independent clinical services. The Mental Health Tech – Crisis supports program operations and works within clearly defined responsibilities under the oversite of the Crisis Services Program Manager and the program’s Clinical Supervisor.
When observing crisis assessments or program services, participation is strictly observational and intended for training and professional development purposes.
The position could lead to possible opportunities for full-time employment with Elevate upon completion of a bachelor’s degree.

Job Summary:
This position is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to crisis services and behavioral processes support program operations and learn from experienced crisis staff while developing foundational skills in the behavioral health field.
Essential Functions:
- Answering crisis line calls and escalating high-risk calls immediately to crisis staff.
- Greet and welcome program participants and visitors in a trauma-informed, respectful manner.
- Shadow crisis staff during crisis assessments to gain exposure to crisis response procedures, service coordination, and documentation practices (may co-transport clients when needed).
- Complete follow up calls with clients enrolled in follow-up services and document interactions in SmartCare the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with program procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and program training as needed.
- Provide general administrative support (filing, copying, scanning, data entry, assembling materials) for Mobile Crisis and SIL staff.
- Offer program team support for meal breaks, debriefing opportunities, and other activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.

- Assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance and recordkeeping.

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field with Junior or Senior standing required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural competence.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and unpredictable environments while maintaining professionalism and sound judgement.

- Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment background check and drug screening required.
