Responsibilities

→Install new and renovate old landscaping including but not limited to turf, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds.
→Maintain, renovate, and repair all exterior athletic and recreational facilities
→Remove all trash on grounds including emptying waste receptacles.
→Provide emergency response, as appropriate, to exterior hazardous conditions
→Assist in various special events, set-ups, and building service functions as needed
→Maintain, renovate and repair campus grounds including but not limited to landscaping, fencing, parking lots, roadways, and pathways. Maintain parking lots and roadways including potholes, curb stops, and cleaning. Operate power equipment using caution to ensure the safety of both life and property. Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is operating properly
→Maintain records of hours and materials used, and vehicle log trip tickets. Responsible for keeping all equipment safe from vandalism or theft during working hours. Responsible for requesting equipment and supplies in advance to ensure job completion. Responsible for cleaning all equipment at the end of the shift

Requirements

Prior grounds and/or landscaping experience

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license. In some instances, a valid Class C (CDL) license may be required.
Must meet the University’s standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):
More than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in 3 years
More than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in any 1 year
A major conviction in the last 3 years, including (but not limited to) driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and/or homicide or assault by motor vehicle.
