The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) in the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach Campus invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Systems Engineering at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

The successful candidate will join a growing systems engineering community supporting Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs in Systems Engineering, as well as a systems-focused pathway within the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The faculty member will have opportunities to contribute to the continued development of the department’s academic programs, research initiatives, and student opportunities.

The department maintains strong connections to the systems engineering profession through faculty membership in the INCOSE Academic Council, leadership roles at leading systems engineering technical conferences, and service on the INRESCOS advisory board. Recent initiatives have further strengthened the student experience, including the launch of a student INCOSE club, expanded access to Cameo modeling resources, and INCOSE Academic Equivalency recognition supporting the Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification pathway.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department’s research mission, deliver student-centered instruction, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in service activities. Applicants should share the department’s commitment to an inclusive, collegial, and collaborative academic environment.

EECS is home to 24 faculty members and multiple degrees: the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; M.S. degrees in Cybersecurity Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Engineering; and B.S. degrees in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering. The department offers an inclusive, collegial, and highly collaborative faculty member environment, with far-reaching efforts in multidisciplinary challenges. A sample of EECS faculty research activities can be found here.

The department is proud of its high-quality education programs and its nearly 100% placement rate in the industry or academic institutions. It possesses outstanding research resources such as laboratories in the John Mica Engineering and Aerospace Innovation Complex, and recent student support grants such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) CyberCorps® Scholarships for Service (SFS) , the NSF Scholarships in STEM (S-STEM), and two NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs.

EECS seeks candidates who can expand the department’s research expertise, as well as deliver student-centered teaching and provide mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants should share the department’s commitment to an inclusive, inviting and collaborative community.
