Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper

Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their Port Elizabeth team, Capture and process supplier invoices and customer transactions accurately Maintain debtors and creditors ledgers Perform bank reconciliations and cashbook processing Process petty cash transactions and reconciliations Assist with monthly bookkeeping up to trial balance Ensure all financial documentation is properly filed and maintained Process supplier payments in accordance with company procedures Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies Issue customer invoices and statements Follow up on outstanding debtor accounts where required Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations Support the submission of statutory returns Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Generate standard financial and management reports Identify and escalate discrepancies or unusual transactions Requirements Grade 12 Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Finance 1-2 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience gained in a Accounting Firm Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with accounting packages
