The Environmental Inspector is under the general supervision of the Chief Inspector/Assistant Chief/ Client representative. The Environmental Inspector shall possess knowledge and be well skilled and competent in the regulations associated with field construction. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


Primary Functions: 


  • Has a full working knowledge of the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, this includes the plan narrative and plan drawings.
  • Ensures that all erosion and sedimentation control measures at waterways, roads, excavations, hillsides, etc., are installed in their proper sequence and in accordance to the design specifications.
  • Keeps the Chief Inspector aware of any problems or of any anticipated problems which may affect compliance with the Environmental Plan or Governmental Regulations.
  • Maintains close contact with all other inspectors on the project to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
  • Assures that no design changes or material substitutions affecting the Environmental Plan are made unless prior approval is obtained from the Chief Inspector.
  • Assures that all environmental structures damaged by the contractor are repaired and restored per the Environmental Plan.
  • Assures that all materials used in the performance of the job assignment are in compliance with the Environmental Plan.


Qualifications:


  • Proven capabilities and experience in the execution of installing environmental controls.
  • Is knowledgeable in Industry Standards relating to erosion and sediment control practices.
  • Is thoroughly versed with the Client Company procedures of the Environmental Plan.


Please note: API 1169 Certification is strongly preferred and often required for all Inspectors depending upon the project or client assignment.
