Scientist II, Analytics & Metrology

The Role 

Entegris is currently seeking Scientist II to join our Analytics & Metrology team. This position will be based in our Aurora 845 facility. 

 

In this role, you will support quality control testing, analytical investigations, method execution, and continuous improvement activities for CMP slurry products. You will independently perform analytical testing, evaluate data quality, support laboratory operations, and partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and R&D teams to ensure products consistently meet quality and customer requirements. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Independently perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of slurry products using validated methods. 
  • Generate, evaluate, and document analytical data to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Review data for atypical trends and investigate abnormal findings. 
  • Support timely release of production materials. 
  • Perform instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance. 
  • Monitor instrument performance and support reliability initiatives. 
  • Participate in method transfers, optimization efforts, and new method implementation. 
  • Support MSA and method validation activities. 
  • Lead or participate in OOS, OOT, and root cause investigations. 
  • Apply SPC tools and trend analysis to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Author technical reports, investigations, and laboratory documentation. 
  • Provide analytical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and R&D teams. 
  • Train laboratory technicians and chemists on methods and instrumentation. 
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. 

What We Seek 

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. 
  • 3-5 years of laboratory experience in a QC, analytical, manufacturing support, or research environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience executing validated analytical methods and evaluating analytical data. 
  • Experience troubleshooting analytical instrumentation. 
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of SPC, trend analysis, and data-driven decision making. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited daily supervision. 
  • Preferred qualifications include Experience in semiconductor materials supply (precursors, acids, solvents, cleans) Experience with SPC, trending tools, and production data systems (e.g., LIMS) 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting routine, high-throughput laboratory operations 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting CMP slurries, specialty chemicals, or semiconductor materials. 
  • Experience with particle characterization, ICP, HPLC, or related techniques. 
  • Experience with method development, optimization, or validation. 
  • Experience leading laboratory investigations and root cause analyses.
