Substitute Teacher

Downtown Oakland Science Academy seeks a Full Time Substitute to lead students to academic success in a diverse, compassionate school community.

• →Collaborate with administrators and in grade level teams daily to ensure coverage for classes and advisories in need of a substitute.
• →Internalize, and follow lesson and unit plans for daily substitute needs in all subjects.
• →Support general education students and special education students with 504 or IEP plans. 
• →Focus on professional learning and mastery through weekly professional development and coaching sessions.
• →Leverage technology and web-based programs to guide students in their own learning.
• →Know students well, develop a strong sense of community and belonging in the classroom, and personalize each student’s learning experience
• →Build strong relationships with families, including meeting with families on a scheduled basis to share information about their students and the school.
• →Other duties as assigned

• B.A. or B.S. required
• Valid California 30-day substitute permit
