Food Services Assistant - JBH Dietary - PRN - 6a- 6p

Responsible for the prompt, friendly, and helpful service of foods/food products to all patients and customers. Accountable for cleaning activities. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

1. →Operate cash register and reconciles cash drawer at the end of serving period. Responsible for all money issued and recorded in register.
2. →Participates in cafeteria promotional activities.
3. →Sets up steam table and serves hot foods to cafeteria customers.
4. →Sets up cold food counter, salad bar, and sandwich topping bar.
5. →Restocks serving areas with foods and dishes as needed during serving period.
6. →Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks according to established department procedures. Restocks supplies necessary to maintain service to customers (cups, napkins, condiments, etc.).
7. →Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization.

Works in an institutional food service environment. Working environment is well-ventilated, well lighted, and temperature controlled. Subject to slips and falls due to wet floor surfaces and cuts and burns from equipment. Safe work habits required. Job requires moderate moving up to 25 lbs. independently. Must be able to adjust to a moderate pace of work with time deadlines. Must possess sanitary work habits, good customer service and communication skills. Safe use of chemicals and weekend work required. Work assignments may be rotated to better serve customers and patients.

Works in a highly visible area with considerable amount of contact with customers.

Use of grill, fryer and cash register. Must be able to move 25 lbs. independently.

Cashier experience preferred, but not required.
