We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who will serve as a trusted partner to the business and a project-owning operator within the legal team. This is a senior and hands-on function: you will own mandates end-to-end, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure that legal work is implemented effectively in day-to-day business operations, while being ready to handle routine legal matters when the business requires it.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Act as a legal generalist and key partner to internal teams - compliance, operations, finance, technology, and senior leadership - owning legal projects end-to-end
- →Advise on employment and HR matters across multiple legal entities, including labour law, occupational health and safety, and employment-related contracts
- →Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and operational documents, including NDAs and commercial contracts
- →Monitor regulatory developments in key jurisdictions and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for the business
- →Support licensing and ongoing compliance in regulated markets (Malta, India, UAE/DIFC), including DORA-related IT services compliance in Malta
- →Lead legal support for expansion into new markets: entity setup, regulatory approvals, commercial launch
- →Manage external counsel to ensure practical and cost-effective legal support
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-jurisdictional legal projects independently and to deadline
- Strong commercial instincts - you understand business objectives and calibrate legal advice accordingly
- Advanced user of Google Workspace and modern AI platforms including Gemini, Claude, and equivalent tools; you leverage these daily to increase output quality and speed
- Exceptional written and verbal communication - you can translate complex legal analysis into clear, actionable guidance for non-lawyers
- Highly organised, deadline-driven, and composed under pressure across competing priorities
