## Join our Team About this opportunity: Radio Interface Based Time Monitoring is a recently developed Ericsson feature, with which it is possible to calculate the time alignment error between 5G base stations. To calculate the time alignment error, two-way measurements derived from the time of arrival of a reference signal transmitted over-the-air are needed. To be able to receive these measurements, both base stations need to be able to hear each other. There are limits on how much transmission power a base station can have, so this means that other solutions need to be investigated to ensure adequate signal quality for RIB-TM. The work in this master thesis involves working with advanced 5G simulator software to gain a further understanding of how the signal quality of the RIB-TM channel can be optimized, develop solutions and measure the performance impact. You will drive the master thesis work with the support of an experienced mentor and in collaboration with driven and knowledgeable developers. We are looking for people with a passion for software development, problem solving and who do not hesitate to try all possible ways to solve the task at hand. So, take this opportunity to contribute and impact how the networks of tomorrow will be designed! What you will do: * Investigate and develop methods to improve the RIB-TM signal quality * Verify the improvements by modifying an existing RIB-TM simulator and cross verify the performance with and without your modifications * Document and present results and conclusions The skills you bring: * MSc in Computer, Electrical or Telecommunication Science, Engineering Physics or Mathematics * Background in signal processing is required. * Programming interest and skills are essential, as the algorithm simulator is written in C++. MATLAB, Python or similar will be used for visualization of simulation results. * Good communication skills and fluency in English, both oral and written Why join Ericsson? At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
