Per Diem ER and CCU Veterinary Technician

$25–$40/hour RVT | $25–$36/hour SVA | Campbell, CA | Per Diem

Schedule: Casual/per diem status with extra shifts available as needed. This is a flexible opportunity for veterinary technicians looking to pick up additional shifts in a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital.

SAGE Campbell is hiring Per Diem ER/CCU Veterinary Technicians to support our Emergency and Critical Care Unit (ER/CCU). Candidates must have 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience. RVTs and veterinary technicians with emergency or specialty experience are strongly preferred.

• Provide clinical support to veterinarians caring for emergency and critical care patients

• Assist with patient care, treatment, monitoring, and other veterinary clinical procedures

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and members of the veterinary team

• Perform accurate mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other clinical calculations

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient and client information

• Follow hospital protocols and safety standards while providing high-quality patient care

• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and other hospital team members

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred

• Emergency or specialty veterinary experience preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to interact with clients and team members with tact, patience, professionalism, and discretion

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate clinical calculations

• Must maintain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain one within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role

• VACSP requirement is waived for individuals who hold a valid California RVT license
