Intern, Control Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)

Intern Description:
This internship will report to Mgr Opts Supt Engineering, which supports planning, maintenance, operation, and development of Evergy’s electricity production assets.  Projects may be related to Instrumentation/Controls, Thermal Performance, and evaluating new generation technologies (including renewables).

Job tasks include but not limited to:
Project examples:
• Alarm Management System
• Control System Upgrades
• Cyber Security Projects
• AI Research

Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university or technical program in one of the following or a related technical field: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Cyber Security.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
• Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills.  
• Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel. 
• Experience in scripting, data interpretation and research preferred.  
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently and effectively in a high stress environment.

Working Conditions:
Mix of field/site/plant work with some office work.
