Be our next Environmental Project Manager (Permitting) 

 

Your work environment at EXP 

In this role, you will be a part of the Environmental team, of the Energy Services Sector, based in Anchorage, Alaska, or Remotely. You will lead all aspects of project management (permitting), including client management and business development. 

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you 

  • Provide technical expertise for  permitting, regulatory strategy development, environmental field surveys, and compliance for energy-related major project tasks and management of single projects, including, oil and gas exploration, upstream oil and gas developments, pipeline projects, and infrastructure. 

  • Manage and prepare permit applications for projects including those associated with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS); state agencies including State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and State Pipeline Coordinators Section (SPCS); and Borough and Local agencies. 

  • Assist in the management of the procurement and execution of subcontractor firms assigned to provide subject matter expertise and specialty field studies (wetlands, cultural, biological). 

  • Lead and support the preparation of environmental assessment documents for environmental services in accordance with National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and Federal Agency guidelines as applicable. 

  • Support and lead the preparation for supporting project consultations include Section 106 NHPA and Section 7 ESA consultation requirements. 

  • Support the development of new project opportunities with existing clients and develop business opportunities through new relationship management. 

  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates for existing and new client contracts. 

 

What your experience looks like 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Natural Resources, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience managing permitting or NEPA for large infrastructure projects. 

  • Advanced knowledge of environmental permitting practices and regulations. 

  • Working knowledge of the principles, practices and acceptable techniques of business development and managing client relationships; project planning, development, and evaluation; project management; requests for proposals, invitations for bid and tendering offers; and computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook. 

  • Ability to meet project deadlines; communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including advanced technical writing abilities; maintain and establish effective working relationships; prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously; compile, review and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness and compliance; work accurately in a detail oriented environment; and prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
