Peer Counselor - Youth Partner (FBH Certified Peer Counselor)

Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is looking for a Peer Counselor (Youth Partner) who wants to join our team of innovators who continually "push the envelope" and challenges traditional thinking in Behavioral Health.

We are a values-driven organization, providing family oriented mental health care for children, youth and families in their own home and community. Our enthusiastic clinical teams provide whatever is needed to help children and youth remain safely in their own home with their family, restoring hope with promise, providing intense mental health services and supports, and helping to strengthen the family unity. With sites located in Western Washington including Vancouver/Portland Metro area, we offer comprehensive intensive, Wrap-around mental health services to a diverse population for youth and families. We employ nearly 800 caring and compassionate employees.  

• Coverage after hours: $75.00 per pay period (2 times per month)
• Ability to earn additional pay: based on performance

• Extensive training (i.e. WISe, De-Escalation, etc.)
• Daily supervision and support, as needed

Youth Partners collaborate, provide support and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving Family Behavioral Health Services. Working as a member of a team, the Youth Partner helps a youth voice their own perspective and assure that other team members are able to understand their perspective and use that perspective in treatment planning. This position helps youth, parents and families achieve confidence in their abilities to team on a recovery journey and maintain hope for their success after formal behavioral health services have been completed.

Emphasis is on achieving incredible outcomes with children, youth and families by actively partnering with them along with their natural and community services and supports to achieve long term safety and stability in our neighborhoods and communities. 

This position will be based out of FBH North Vancouver, Salmon Creek site. It may include time working from home, in the office and with scheduling flexibility to provide services to youth and families in the community and in their homes, as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 21 or older.
• Personal (lived) experience as a child/youth who has received community / mental health services within the past ten years.
• Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract).
• Must be able to driver to youth and family homes and in the community, have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and provide current auto registration.
• Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
• Availability to flex some work hours, as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
