Students and young B.A. graduates are now welcome to complete this internship application for the Staff Fellow role at the Washington, DC regional office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES DC). We would like to point out the following points of information that are required for this internship: Professional fluency in German and English Subject-specific studies with a completed basic degree or at least five semesters of B.A. Studies. Advanced knowledge of social media, which makes it possible to manage the media presence of FES DC Once selected, the candidate will be connection with Cultural Vistas, a US non-profit organization that will assist with obtaining the visa. Once selected into the internship program, candidates may also contact GIZ, which also awards scholarships to cover visa and travel costs. In principle, the FES does not cover any costs and does not pay any remuneration for the internship. The FES assumes no liability for any accidents or damage in connection with the internship. The selected candidate is responsible for obtaining the necessary insurance (e.g., international health insurance, liability insurance and possibly accident insurance). In this Staff Fellow internship role the selected candidate will learn about the work of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, focusing on transatlantic relations with the United States and Canada. Apply the knowledge and skills gained through university education and previous internships; and learn more about working in a culturally diverse environment and improving language skills. In addition, the Staff Fellow will provide multi-level support for many projects in coordination with all FES DC staff. The concentrated areas of work will range from Foreign and Security Issues (Syria, Russia, the Refugee Crisis, etc.), Economic and Labor Issues (TTIP, Financial Crisis, Unions), to Climate and Energy Issues (Climate Change, Renewable Energy, etc.) Requirements Fall 2025 Internship Program: September 8th – December 19th (Application Deadline 14:00 EST on Friday, March 28, 2025) Start Date: The first day after the U.S. Labor Day holiday. Last Day: The Friday before the Christmas holiday. § (Minimum Internship Duration: Two Months | Maximum Internship Duration: Three Months (unless directed otherwise by the internship supervisor) There are no internship roles available in July and August.
