Overnight In Room Dining Server at The Whitby

We are looking for eager individuals to join our Food & Beverage team!

The ideal candidates will be trained professionals who can provide top-level service to match the level of cuisine and the quality of product we serve. We are looking for individuals who communicate well, are dependable, and are enthusiastic. Candidates will have a passion for food and beverage equally, and understand how to read a guest properly to ensure quality service, leaving a lasting impression and a memorable experience.

• →Serving experience in an upscale market
• →Strong knowledge of food and beverage (wine and champagne knowledge is a plus)
• →Manual handling
• →Able to work well under pressure during times of high-volume service
• →Exceptional upselling techniques
• →Ensure all allergy procedures are followed at all times

• Experience as a Room Service Server or a Server in a hotel or fine dining restaurant
• Knowledge of the Micros POS system
• Highly organized
• Must be open to working AM/PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Work in Mini Bar when necessary
• Full understanding of New York City Health Department standards and regulations
• Take personal responsibility for punctuality

• Be able to stand for a complete 8-hour shift, 5 days a week
• Ability to read, review, enter, and retrieve information from and into a Point of Sale system, preferably Micros
• Able to use a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone system
• Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally, and use systems to document activities
• Visual acuity to see restaurant menus and Micros screens, take customer orders, review customer bills, and smoothly navigate the dining room, kitchen, and other restaurant areas
• Ability to balance dishes, bend, stoop, and reach to place and retrieve plates, glassware, and other serving items
• Can multitask with a keen sense of attention to detail to make certain tables are served and bussed properly
• Demonstrates the basics of polishing, marking, spot checking, and crumbing tables
• Available to work a flexible schedule that can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
