Pediatric Home Care Nurse Duties & Responsibilities
• Assess children’s health problems and chart out a care plan.
• Provide one-on-one patient care.
• Administer medication and take and record vitals.
• Assess home situations to determine that children are in the best possible environment.
• Assist children with daily care such as grooming, bathing, and toileting.
• Provide emotional support to children and their families.
• Work with pediatricians to ensure that proper treatment is administered at all times.
• Ensure that the treatment provided is producing the expected results and alter procedures when the requirement occurs.
• Observe symptoms and report to the pediatrician.
• Start and monitor intravenous fluids.
• Observer children for changes in health.
• Act as a home health educator for children and their families.
• Work as a nurse advocate to safeguard the children’s rights.
• Record medical findings, symptoms, and observations.
• Ensure the safety of children at all times.
• Act as a consultant for children’s welfare.
