From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.

Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.

About the Role

~1 min read

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead our corporate accounting function and help shape the next generation of our Finance organization. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for the day-to-day General Ledger (GL) accounting function while also serving as a key transformation leader across Accounting and Finance.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a builder's mindset. You will ensure an accurate, timely, and well-controlled close while rethinking how accounting work gets done—simplifying processes, improving systems and data, expanding automation, and driving practical adoption of AI across the accounting organization.
This role requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and detailed levels, from defining the future-state accounting operating model to solving complex accounting, process, and systems challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead Corporate Accounting

  • Own corporate accounting operations, including the General Ledger, month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and related activities.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring financial results are accurate, well-supported, controlled, and delivered on time.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and build processes that scale with the growth and complexity of the business.
  • Partner closely with Technical Accounting, Revenue, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Legal, IT, and other teams on accounting and business matters.
  • Support external audits and financial reporting requirements.

Drive Transformation & AI Adoption

  • Serve as a transformation leader for Accounting, developing and executing a roadmap for a more automated, scalable, and data-driven organization.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, accelerate the close, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and standardize processes.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving accounting systems, financial data, integrations, workflow automation, and process redesign.
  • Champion the responsible adoption of AI across Accounting, identifying and implementing high-value use cases that improve productivity, quality, and employee experience.
  • Build AI capabilities across the team through training, experimentation, and best-practice sharing while establishing appropriate governance and human oversight.
  • Establish metrics to measure improvements in close performance, automation, productivity, and quality.

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team capable of operating effectively in a fast-growing SaaS/Data environment.
  • Develop future leaders by increasing ownership and building stronger accounting, technology, and business capabilities across the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement where the team challenges existing processes and embraces technology, automation, and new ways of working.
  • Balance operational excellence with transformation, ensuring the organization executes reliably while continuously improving how work gets done.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of corporate or GL accounting functions within a public company or similarly complex environment.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience; experience managing managers preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close processes, internal controls, and accounting operations.
  • Experience within a SaaS, software, technology, or data business strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading meaningful Accounting or Finance transformation initiatives.
  • Strong systems orientation with experience improving ERP, close management, reconciliation, workflow, or other Finance technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of AI and automation and an ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical accounting applications.
  • Excellent project management, change leadership, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution and influence stakeholders across Finance and the broader organization.

Success in this role goes beyond delivering an accurate close. You will help build an accounting organization that is increasingly automated, intelligent, scalable, and forward-looking.
You will create a more efficient and predictable close, reduce reliance on manual processes, embed AI and automation into how the team operates, and build a strong leadership bench. Ultimately, this role will help define what a modern Accounting organization should look like in an AI-enabled SaaS/Data company.
