Responsibilities

  • →

    Lead by example by demonstrating safe behaviors, ensuring compliance, and encouraging others to do the same.

  • →

    Communicate and provide subject matter expert support to other stakeholders on job sites, including customers, general and other contractors, union representatives, and regulatory personnel.

  • →

    Ensure timely and accurate completion of all inspections and incident investigations, including collaborating with the Risk Manager for workers’ compensation and other claims.

  • →

    Maintain a summary of all audits, inspections, and other action items, and ensure timely and sustainable completion.

  • →

    Ensure compliance with all State Group, governmental, and legal requirements (including OSHA, EPA, ISO). Lead urgent response to workers’ safety concerns.

  • →

    Communicate any potential or non-compliant issues to the leadership team promptly.

  • →

    Stop unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately, and promptly counsel individuals or tag out equipment to eliminate unsafe conditions.

  • →

    Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience with a strong understanding of applicable safety regulations and policies.

  • A degree in Safety or a related field and a CSP certification are preferred.

  • Experience in construction or union environments with fluctuating project volumes is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Card.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, confined space activities, hot work, excavations, and other key safety protocols.

  • Ability to demonstrate the organization's core values through professional conduct and leadership.

  • Ability to effectively train and communicate safety requirements and protocols.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and periodic drug tests.
