Cable Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician position prepares and hand solders wire and cable connectors, splices, sockets, for the molding process per defined policies and procedures.

• →Minimum High School diploma/GED
• →5 years electro-mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment including the reading and interpretation of detailed electronic drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• →Must have prior hand soldering experience, wire and cable soldering highly preferred.
• →Current or prior J-STD 001 and IPC 620 certification preferred.
• →Must be willing to receive and provide cross training in all assemblies.
• →Good work ethic and reliability; consistently at work and on time.
• →Availability for overtime Monday through Saturday when required.
• →Candidate must possess "U.S. Person" status for access to ITAR controlled technical data.

• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at a level that allows for the comprehension of detailed work and safety instructions and the legible completion of paperwork and communication with co-workers and management.
• Must have good vision (corrected vision is acceptable) to perform visual inspection of product quality and to identify defects. Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Must possess good manual dexterity to effectively use basic hand tools and equipment.
• Experienced with some power tools (power drills, sanders, etc.)
• Solid understanding of mechanical hardware (nuts, bolts, screws, etc.) assembly.
• Solid understanding of blueprints, Bill of Materials and mechanical drawings,
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Exhibits mechanical aptitude.
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to learn how to use ERP system for job tracking.
• Requires ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus.

Target Pay Rate: $18.00 - $27.00 DOE
