The Space & Defense group develops both full custom and semi-custom image sensors, focal plane arrays, and cameras for Airborne & Space applications. We are looking for a Design Specialist- Test (II) to join our team in Waterloo.

The Design Specialist is responsible for the design, performance, and maintenance of both the hardware and software involved in evaluating the performance of products or their component parts. This role involves collaboration with multiple process groups and the integration of a variety of tools.

The duties and responsibilities outlined below reflect the core functions of the role. However, the organization may assign additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet operational and strategic objectives. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the scope of the role may evolve in response to changing business needs.

·       Learn and follow relevant design standards, procedures, techniques and test methodologies with particular attention to protection of intellectual property.

·       Learn and utilize relevant development and productivity tools and use them for developing new test systems

·       Evaluate and test components and/or sub systems

·       Communicate as necessary with engineering support groups

·       Learn about existing test systems, procedures, and documentation.

·       Develop new test file by making modifications to existing ones

·       Test products on existing test setups.

·       Extract and analyze test results into reports for review.

·       Follow established test plans and create test procedures for new product

·       Assist manufacturing associates when a problem with a deployed test arises.

• College Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience or a Bachelor`s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience

• Relevant field of study such as Physics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
