Build Your Flooring Sales Business With an Established Brand

Floor Coverings International of Lakeland is seeking an experienced, self-directed Flooring Sales & Design Consultant to serve residential and commercial customers throughout Polk County and surrounding communities.

This opportunity is designed for an entrepreneurial sales professional who wants flexibility, is comfortable with commission-only compensation, and can generate new business while also serving qualified company opportunities when available.

Using our convenient in-home and on-site sales model, you will help customers select flooring solutions that fit their property, style, performance needs, and budget.

This is not a salaried or hourly position. Compensation is based entirely on successfully sold, completed, and collected projects.

Responsibilities

Conduct residential and commercial flooring consultations.
Identify customer needs, budgets, timelines, and project conditions.
Present carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate, hardwood, tile, and commercial flooring solutions.
Measure project areas and gather information for accurate proposals.
Present pricing, follow up consistently, and close sales.
Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information.
Coordinate project details with office and production support.
Communicate professionally with customers throughout the sales process.
Generate leads through networking, referrals, community involvement, and direct business development.
Build relationships with homeowners, Realtors, builders, investors, property managers, general contractors, and commercial decision-makers.
Develop repeat and referral business.

Preferred Qualifications

Flooring sales, estimating, or project-consultation experience is strongly preferred.
Proven sales experience in flooring, home improvement, remodeling, kitchen and bath, construction, real estate, design, or a similar field.
Comfortable with commission-only compensation and variable income.
Self-motivated and able to operate without daily supervision.
Capable of generating business instead of relying exclusively on company leads.
Confident presenting proposals, handling objections, and asking for the sale.
Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
Comfortable using mobile technology and CRM software.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, smartphone, and appropriate business equipment.
Able to travel throughout Polk County and nearby service areas.
Available for mutually agreed customer appointments, including occasional evenings or Saturdays.

Candidates with flooring knowledge, estimating experience, an established referral network, or builder, property-management, and commercial relationships will receive priority consideration.

Compensation

1099 independent contractor opportunity.
Commission only with no guaranteed salary, hourly wage, or draw.
Estimated annual commission opportunity of $40,000–$100,000+.
Uncapped earning potential.
Competitive commission on qualified company-provided opportunities.
Enhanced commission opportunity for approved self-generated business.
Commissions are governed by a written Independent Contractor Agreement and are generally paid on eligible projects after applicable customer funds have been collected.
No employee benefits are provided.
The contractor is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, transportation, and ordinary business expenses.

Actual compensation depends on closed and collected sales, project profitability, and self-generated business. No minimum number of leads, appointments, projects, commissions, or earnings is guaranteed.

Independent Contractor Relationship

The consultant will operate as an independent business professional and control the manner, methods, and schedule used to provide sales services, subject to customer commitments, legal requirements, product standards, and the Independent Contractor Agreement. The consultant may accept or decline individual opportunities.
