POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Performance Coach to perform a variety of duties related to athletic performance programs for student-athletes. Assists in the implementation of sport-specific strength, agility, conditioning, and speed programs for Men’s & Women’s Tennis. Oversees general activities in the weight room to ensure proper procedures and lift protocols are followed. Assists in monitoring of the student-athletes’ work ethic, techniques, and proper training skills.

This position requires the incumbent to lift and move one hundred plus pounds; be a flexible, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds and with high energy, intense personalities; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extensive overnight travel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field OR Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and one year of related experience training at a collegiate or professional level
CPR/First Aid Certification
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) OR Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
Valid driver’s license

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Knowledge of and experience working with Men’s or Women’s Tennis
Experience working with GPS monitoring systems
Experience interpreting performance metrics
