Role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to own the creation, design, and maintenance of web applications at our company.  The current applications are written in Typescript using React as a framework, served through Next.js, and using React Query.  You will work in an environment that is fast paced, has little technical debt, and utilizes the latest technologies. 

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for our web applications.

• Lead end-to-end development of new user-facing features.

• Break fuzzy ideas into clear specs, edge cases, phased plans.

• Build intuitive and responsive UIs from Figma mocks.

• Optimize application performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals.

• Evolve React/Next.js structure: routing, state, and code‑split rules

• Define React Query caching, retries, and optimistic updates.

• Build a cross‑platform component library with Storybook.

• Iteratively work with design and product leadership to create a delightful experience.

• Represent engineering in roadmap; balance value, effort, and risk.

• Rapid‑prototype UI/UX to de‑risk big bets with design.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping web applications with React and Next.js.

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, React, and React Native.

• Experience creating websites from Figma mocks.

• Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles.

• A keen eye for detail, particularly in ensuring UI elements' visual quality and interactivity.

• Experience with ‘polishing’ UI in collaboration with a designer.

• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Detox, etc.).
