Job Title: Lead Family Support Coordinator (Spanish/English Bilingual)
Reports To: Family Support Director (or designee)
Location: San Francisco (Agency-wide)
Compensation: $72,150-$76,050 annually, DOE, plus an excellent benefits package  
Classification: Exempt, full-time position, and 37.5 hrs/wk
Schedule: 9:00am-5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend events as needed

Position Summary:
In accordance with Family Connections’ mission and standards, the Lead Family Support Coordinator works in partnership with parents/caregivers, staff, and community agencies to build collaborative relationships and provide programs that support families as they identify and meet their own goals and nurture the development of their children in the context of their family and culture. The position will lead the coordination of programs, with a focus on Spanish-speaking families.

Primary Responsibilities:

Direct Family Support
  • Plan and implement Family Support programs in accordance with work plans and goals, including parent workshops, community events, information & referral sessions, and caregiver support groups.
  • Provide direct Family Advocacy and Case Management services.
  • Work collaboratively with on-site and off-site service providers to ensure comprehensive coordination of care for participants.
  • Model and facilitate healthy interactions and relationships with program participants, visitors, and community partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local schools, libraries, contractors, and community organizations.
  • Provide occasional translation for intake forms, agency announcements, and family-staff communications.
Program Leadership
  • Spearhead the planning, alignment, and quality control of support groups and family events across sites to ensure adherence to organizational goals and the mission.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for Family Support staff on support groups, providing guidance on best practices and connecting teams with guest speakers.
  • Lead coordination and staff coaching for Prenatal Workshops (e.g., Baby Steps and Baby Infant Massage).
  • Perform program observations and quality checks—with a specific emphasis on Spanish-language programs—delivering actionable feedback and coaching to elevate service delivery standards.
Staff, Intern, & Volunteer Supervision
  • Train staff, volunteers, and interns in key program curricula and structures (e.g., Support Groups, Family Events, Parent Advisory Board).
  • Supervise interns and volunteers, providing ongoing coaching, support, and performance evaluations to foster professional growth.
  • Serve as a liaison between team members, directors, and managers to ensure goal alignment and implementation.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested by the supervisor 

Qualifications:
  • BA preferred or relevant professional experience in combination with an AA Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field 
  • 3+ years of experience working with children and family services 
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required 
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills 
  • Able to handle multiple tasks, great problem-solving and mediation skills, and commitment to FCC’s mission  

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience working effectively with diverse communities, including familiarity with San Francisco’s populations and learning styles; supports community partnerships and builds positive relationships
  • Maintains confidentiality, discretion, sound judgment, and adherence to professional ethics.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, flexibility, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to speak in group settings and provide feedback.
  • Works well both independently and collaboratively; able to take initiative and contribute to team goals; and attends required meetings, trainings, and workshops
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with databases is helpful
  • Maintains required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, Pesticide training), follows safety and ergonomic practices, and ensures up-to-date background clearance, health screening clearance, and vaccinations

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment with Pre-K and Afterschool Programs on site. Work is scheduled weekdays, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening/weekend work to support community events. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, bend, kneel, and crouch. The employee must lift and/or move items over 25 pounds and, on occasion, may require lifting/carrying a child or object up to 50 pounds. This job requires extended periods of time at a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Vaccination Requirements: 
All employees are expected to be fully vaccinated for MMR, Tdap, TB Testing Results, COVID, etc, which includes current/available booster shots.
