Position Summary

The HR Intern is responsible for providing human resources, administrative, and analytical support. The HR Intern works directly with management and the HR team on a broad spectrum of employee engagement, recruitment, process improvement, and organizational initiatives.

Domestic travel may be required.

Essential Functions

• Support analysis of basic HR data and key workforce metrics to build understanding of employee needs, business operations, and decision-making

• Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities and contribute to employee engagement, recruitment, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Communicate information clearly through multiple formats (written, verbal, and presentations) to support team and stakeholder understanding

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills

• Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills

• Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor

• Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and enrolled in a university or college with a goal of achieving a degree

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands and arms to grasp, reach and type; stoop or kneel; and speak or hear. The position is primarily performed in a quiet, climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to moving equipment, elements, or risk of injury. When entering the shipyard, there may be exposure to moving equipment, elements, or risk of injury.
