Crane Operator

ROLE SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of vessel loading/offloading,
deck organization and crane support for all operations, as well as organizing and supervising
the deck crews.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organizing and supervising the deck crews.
• Inspect rigging up equipment, focusing on slings, wire rope, shackles, tags on these
devices, be vigilant of the present color code for lifting devices of the period.
• Make sure any expired, damaged, or lifting appliances off from the acceptance criteria
is tagged and removed from service by destroying them (cut the sling eye or any
systematic fashion so it can´t be used again).
• Maintenance of cranes and other relevant lift appliances.
• All relevant governing documents are adhered to by direct reports.
• All relevant governing documents are revised as and when required.
• Make sure that clear daily operational guidelines are provided for all direct reports.
• All drills and checks are conducted as required.
• All applicable reports and logs are maintained as required by direct supervisor.
• Safe and efficient execution of operations as per procedures.
• Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of shift.
• Active participation in meeting activities.
• Ensure subordinates are trained according to their training matrix and provide on-thejob
training.
• Responsibility for their own personal safety and the safety of all those which fall under
their direct supervision.
• Any other matters as deemed necessary by Company Management.

Assist with:

• Deck or rig floor operations as required or directed.
• Preparation for future drilling operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferably High school degree or any equivalent.
Years of experience: 3 years’ experience in the position preferably in oil & gas drilling-related
industry.
Crane Operator certificate.
Skills/abilities:
Computer skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Organizational and coordination abilities.
Able to work independently and as a team player.
Fluent English desirable.
