Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.
About the Role
~1 min readThis is an opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex operational challenges, turning data into practical business outcomes and influencing decision-making at every level of the organisation. You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, banner teams, and store owners, delivering meaningful insights that improve store performance, labour productivity, cost efficiency, and execution across our retail network.
While this role doesn't have direct people leadership responsibility, you'll lead through influence, acting as a technical expert, mentoring analysts, and setting the benchmark for analytical rigour, commercial thinking, and quality outcomes.
You'll enjoy variety in your day, balancing strategic analytical projects with emerging operational priorities, partnering across Retail Optimisation, Workforce & Analytics, Demand Planning, Replenishment, Learning & Enablement, and Programme teams.
Responsibilities

- →Delivering actionable operational insights that support performance, labour productivity, and operational excellence across the network.
- →Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
- →Supporting stores through targeted analysis and insight-led recommendations to improve outcomes.
- →Coaching and mentoring analysts while helping lift capability and analytical standards across the team.
- →Contributing to the evolution of reporting, frameworks, and centralised services that support member stores.
You'll bring a strong blend of commercial thinking, analytical expertise, and operational insight, backed by substantial experience delivering performance-focused outcomes in complex retail, grocery, or large-scale operational environments. You're naturally curious, comfortable working with data, and able to translate insights into practical recommendations that drive measurable business results.
A trusted partner to senior leaders, you will be comfortable influencing decisions through evidence-based analysis and clear communication. With exceptional stakeholder management skills, you're confident building strong relationships across a diverse range of audiences, from operational teams and store owners through to senior executives, while constructively challenging thinking to achieve the best outcomes.
Technically strong and commercially astute, you'll bring advanced capability across Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL, BigQuery, and advanced Excel, complemented by experience leading complex analytical initiatives and transforming large-scale datasets into actionable business insights. You thrive in ambiguity, enjoy solving difficult problems, and take a pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach to delivering value for the business.
