THE ROLE

Our Operating Theater Assistants play a key support role for our theatres taking care of the details that make a difference for our surgeons, staff and patients.

The main duties include the following;

  • Cleaning theatres between cases and at the end of day
  • Equipment handling and set up
  • Managing stock levels

 Shift hours are generally 4 to 8 hours with the earliest starts at 7am- and the last shift will finish at 8pm.

As a member of our Casual team, you will be covering leave and sick days and also when there are heavier patient flows.

 ABOUT YOU

You will be joining an existing team and have plenty of support in your training to establish yourself confidently into our hospital life. This is not a patient facing role but your strength will be processes, working meticulously through lists, attention to detail and taking pride in your work.  You like to support others making their lives easier.

The following will be some of the values that are important to you;

  • Infection prevention and control awareness
  • Health and safety
  • Sustainability values and recycling practices
  • Working as a team

It would be helpful (but not essential) if you have had previous experience in a similar role or completed a Careerforce Health & Wellbeing qualification.
